Second book in the series and probably the best one. If you like civil war romance, you'll love this book. I highly recommend the whole series.

The Cameron Family saga continues. Jesses brother Daniel gets to tell his story in this touching romance. Daniel wears the butternut and gray and is prepared to die for the cause. He meets Northern Callie Michaelson who nurese Daniel after a battle that was fought near her house. Despite there differences regarding the conflict love blooms anyway. Jesses and Kiernan are also part of this story. The Civil War was a difficult conflict in our history Heather Graham does it justice.

I am not a great fan of Heather Graham. However, I like books based before, during, and immediately after the Civil War. This second book in the trilogy was as good as the first and third: And One Wore Blue, And One Rode West.

Wow! What a story! You can't put it down - but, I really didn't like the female character very much. She was such a snit! What a guy though!

Highly emotional and stirring. If you enjoy Civil War sagas, I highly recommend this book.
Second in series, just as good as the first.
North versus South lovematch.
I loved this trilogy by Heather Graham! The first is One Wore Blue, then And One Wore Gray, last- And One Rode West. THIS COPY IS AUTOGRAPHED BY HEATHER GRAHAM!!
This is my favorite book in the series.
this is my first graham book and i could imagine myself as callie
Wow! My favorite American historical time period includes the few years before, during and after the Civil War. Heather Graham has chosen wisely; all the Civil War incidents I'm familiar with were described accurately. Im always distressed when I can recognize errors in any War Between the States story.
I didnt think the story of Jesse and Kiernan (ONE WORE BLUE) could be outdone. However, this story is complex and well-meshed with the events of the Civil War. This is Daniel Camerons story (brother of the Union surgeon Jesse). Daniel is a famous Confederate cavalier, one of a small group of crack troops, who incite fear in the Union troops who must do battle with them.
At the opening of this story, half of the war is over; Daniel is wounded during a battle in Maryland. Hundreds of bodies litter the farm of Callie Michaelson, young widow of a Union soldier. Her three brothers are fighting for the Union cause and she is alone on the farm, trying to keep things going for her brothers.
Although Daniel is one of the enemy, Callie recognizes that he is a human being that needs help. She takes him in and treats his wounds and fever. As he begins to recover, they discover a mutual attraction in spite of their strong, opposing war convictions.
As Daniel is leaving, Callie is caught in a terrible predicament: Should she betray him by calling him back and sending him to a Yankee prison or should she allow him to be killed by Yankee sharpshooters? This is a moral dilemma that Callie will agonize over for a long time. This problem is so realistic; it propels the book into deeper issues.
I liked everything about this book. Im always saddened when a multiple-storied series leaves earlier characters behind. Graham knows readers love the characters from the first book; she creates situations where they can continue in the second book.
Be sure to read the tomes in order.

Heather Graham writes a good romantic story!
I liked it especially because it was a follow up to the first One Wore Blue. I liked the characters better in this book.
HER YANKEE PRIDE IGNITED HIS REBEL PASSION
With her sunset hair and gray eyes that flashed silver, Callie Michaelsons wild beauty stirred the Confederate colonels senses just as her courageous spirit touched his soul. Unequaled on the field of battle, Daniel Cameron was bewitched by this sweet enemy whose caresses alone could make him forget the horrors of warand give him the strength to defy an encircling army for one forbidden night in her silken arms
HIS SEARING GAZE TORCHED HER NORTHERN HEART
He was prepared to die for a cause Callie despised, but those eyes of blue fire that gazed at her from his battle-hardened face, melted all resistance. For as the fires of civil war blazed around them, as the fate of her beloved Union hung in the balance, Callie faced the most terrible choice a woman in love was ever forced to make

Outer cover of this book is a little worn from age, but the inside is perfect. It's a lovely story from the Civil War- such an interesting time period!
