Theodora finds herself in a mess again - not only with murder but with an old boyfriend. These books are well written and the characters likeable. Sometimes I think Theo could use a little infusion of common sense, but then the book wouldn't be so good, would it?

Delicious recipes, tea-time tips, opera, and murderin a national bestselling mystery series thats "quickly become a favorite of readers."(Mystery Reader)

While riding her horse in a race through the South Carolina Lowcountry, Theodosia Browning finds her arch nemesis, Abby Davis, dead. Whats more, the victims brother is Theodosias old flame. Whod have guessed theyd be reunited through cold-blooded murder? Theodosias investigation takes her from the Lowcountry thicket to the backstage maze of a darkened theater where a maestro of murder waits for the next cue. All proving that when it comes to high drama, Theodosia can give Verdi a run for his money.

This was a pretty good one in the series. Although, I don't know why everyone keeps asking Theodosia for help with mysteries. She has NEVER really solved one. The murderer is always the person that is not part of her suspect list, the one she never suspects, and the one who surprises her by trying to kill her. This is making the books really unrealistic and predictable.

I knew who did it in chapter 2, and I figured out the "sub mystery" by chapter 3. Laura Childs is very predictable - as I said, when Theodosia has a list of suspects, it's guaranteed that none of them did it. The person who did do it is ALWAYS the one about which there is the least written, who only appears occasionally, and who is never a suspect.

I read this series because I like the characters, and I like to see what goes on in their lives. As far as I'm concerned, the mystery can be completely eliminated as it's not very well done.

A typical, enjoyable, fun little tea mystery. I couldn't find myself caring about this particular mystery even though it had the potential to be very big. I liked the reintroduction of Jory but didn't care for the somewhat erratic portrayal of Theodosia's current beau, Parker.

The story was wrapped up well, as usual, and a new chapter in Theodosia's life will unfold in the next book concerning her new living arrangements. I was happy things worked out the way they did.

The tea knowledge Drayton normally conveys was sparse and a bit cursory. For one, Russian Caravan is a delightfully complex tea that deserves more than the poor description given.

Not a bad read but certainly not the best in the series.
