This is a great story! I read it several years ago, and it still gives me a shiver. Young readers will want to finish it in one sitting! Even though this is the first book in a series, it is a great stand-alone novel.

Slow and very dated in style and content. Can't believe it will hold the attention of YA audience for long. A lot of unfamiliar British-isms may also put the kids off this one.
Classic children's adventure story set on the English Coast. The 3 Drew siblings are caught up in the midst of danger & intrigue on the search for a treasure that harkens back to the time of King Arthur.

First book in Susan Cooper's wonderful "The Dark is Rising" series, dealing with the ancient magic of Britain. Beautifully written. Recommended!
Exciting treaure search. I loved the mythology that was woven throughout.

Enjoyed the story. Will keep on my shelf for when my children are older and ready to ready it.
