When I was a kid, my mother let us kids each color one pillowcase---using crayloa crayons. It was simple. To do this successfully, you have to pull the fabric taut and do small segments at a time. Color heavy or light--heavy just takes more work and effort, but delivers more color impact. Then, with an iron set on warm, and putting a sheet of paper (plain white, NOT newsprint or anything that would impart color or smudges) we would iron the design. The warmth of the iron melted the wax of the crayon into the fabric and it became permanent. At least I recall it did, but it's been many years. We thought these pillowcases were awesome back in the day. Usually flowers and hearts, rainbows, very simple thiings for kids to draw, or letters and messages. It was so simple and fun.
Not sure this helps, as it's not using magic markers. But the crayons most definitely won't bleed--(as long as you color inside the lines, haha).
