Hmmmmmmmmm - what to say about this one .............
In my humble opinion, this is one of Stuart Woods' best works to date!
The main character of this story, let's call her Liz (cuz that's her name!)is nearly beaten to death by her NFL Star Athlete husband during a 'roid rage, (one thing this book does do, is present a peek in the window of the effects of steroid abuse in athletes!)
after a messy divorce, Liz escapes her husband's stalking, by taking refuge on Cumberland Island (a very real place off the coast of Georgia - I'v actually been there myself!) While on the island, she becomes involved with the Drummond family (the original settlers of the island). Like many of us, the drummonds have some skeletons in their closets. One of particular interest is, "what's the secret between the Drummond twins Hamish and Kier?"
Liz'z life is pretty sweet on the island, until the friends she left behind on the mainland begin to die, one-by-one. Liz immediately believes this is her ex husband's doing! Is he coming for her next?
Palindrome is an in-your-face, edge-of-your-seat, keep the headphones on 'till 4AM to finish the book experience! There are absolutely NO lulls in this one. Woods does an excellent job in integrating the characters and plot with the physical settings to create a truly unique story.
For those of you already familiar with Woods' other works, such as: Deep Lie, New York Dead, Chiefs and Orchuid Beach, I think you will find this one is much better! For those of you not yet familiar with Stuart Woods, I feel that listening to this rendition will make you a fan!
Thanks for lookin'

One of his older books, before he took on such a political tone. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
