I loved this book. Once again did DeMille produce a thrilling story but he made me want to expand what i know about American relations overseas and what is going on politically. Absolutely a well written enticing book
This was a truly great novel that draws on real-life events for its inspiration. The plot is realistic, the action non-stop and tension all-to-real.
Decent story. 600 pages and it kept my interest. CIA, FBI in Yemen looking for the American turned Arab that was responsible for the bombing of the US Cole.
Book #6 in the John Corey Series, a direct sequel to The Lion, takes place in Yemen; pub. 2012. The plot is tissue paper thin, bloated, mostly predictable and, except for the last 60-70 pages, seriously lacking in action and suspense. The object is for John Corey and his wife Kate Mayfield to hunt down a particular terrorist in Yemen. The whole book was painfully, meticulously, and ploddingly moving toward that goal through all the boring aspects of getting there such as paperwork and packing. There was no cat-and-mouse going on between the protagonist and antagonist; they met up at the end of the book and the Panther died. The End.
This is another typical John Corey, this time in Afghanistan. I didn't realize until I had read it that it pulls in another recurring DeMille character, fro The General's Daughter.
If you like Corey, this is the next logical step.

A good book...hard to put down!
600 pages of snark, gets a bit much after the first 550...
