This is my 3-year old daughter's favorite bedtime story. I like it because it has a strong female character. The princess is the one rescuing the prince who is carried off by the dragon. She uses her wits to rescue the prince rather than force. It is a great princess story for little girls.
I love this book. It has such a great message for girls-that you can be strong and independent and not need a man to save you, and it totally cracks me up. Laugh out loud funny!

With author Robert Munsch and artist Michael Martchenko, this book is bound to be a winner. It was originally published in 1980 and is in its 54th printing. The whole family will enjoy it. Beautiful Princess Elizabeth loves a stuck-up Prince Ronald. Then one day a dragon burns everything including Elizabeth's clothes and carries off Ronald. Sooty Elizabeth dons a paper-bag (the only thing left) and sets out to rescue Ronald. But just remember that Prince Ronald is stuck-up and stuck on himself.
