I had some trouble getting into it at first, but on the second try I finished it. It got better as it went. I thought the middle lagged a bit, with little movement in the plot, but the ending wasn't bad. It wasn't good enough for a keeper for me, but it was ok.

Sometimes hard to keep track of what was going on, as they moved through time, forwards, backwards and sideways.

it kind of dragged.

An alien king and a human geologist discover the wonders of love at first sight in this unusual debut, which fuses elements of science fiction and the paranormal into a palatable cocktail. Jared Bennett isn't your average hero. As king of a race of people known as Refarians, he can shape-shift into numerous forms, primarily a ball of energy and a handsome, dark-skinned human. He first meets Kelsey Wells in the guise of the latter in the midst of Yellowstone park. Their encounter is brief and innocent, but enough for them to fall in love. Even the memory-erasing efforts of Jared's guardian can't keep the two from recognizing each other years later when Jared, wounded and bearing vital information, turns to Kelsey for help. Her agreement sparks a series of events that draws them togetherand leads an adversary from the future to travel back in time.

Excellent!! Book one of the Parallel Series.
Alien hero, shifting timelines--I liked it but didn't love it. That said I will probably pick up the next in the series.

I tried but couldn't get into this book at all. Ms. Knight's other series grabbed me from the first book but this one, I don't know, it just didn't have the same intensity.

A very enjoyable book.
Im not entirely sure what to say The idea behind the book was good, as was the first few chapters. But there are just so many Issues I have, that make it nearly impossible for me to really like it:
The beginning (which I realized at the end, was the best part) felt rushed : Were introduced to a multitude of characters, but dont really get to know any of them So theyre later actions and reactions make no sense.
Then theres the relationship between our Hero and heroine.. . . I dont know what else to say, other then it wasnt very satisfying They met, and they fell in love.. I think it was supposed to be one of those life mate/bonding type relationships that are so prevalent in paranormals these days, but our authoress wasnt quite able to pull it off Later in the book were supposed to believe theyre desperately in love, but I just couldnt feel it
Then, later in the story, a new character is introduced, and in given center stage for far too long It was at this point (about halfway through the book) that I had to start pushing myself to finish!
And It doesnt really get any better There are a number of things ignored ( like the heroine's life before meeting the Hero... apparently she's so insignificant, that even though she more or less disappears from her old life, no one notices, really?) And there are so many story lines just thrown in, it was almost as if the author didnt have enough material, and just wanted to make the book longer It feels like a series following Kelsey and Jared (our h and H) through their lives, but rather then spread out through a half dozen books, it's condensed into just one short novel
On the positive side, I loved the blushing Hero (though as an alien king, he seemed remarkably human) and thats pretty much all I loved I wanted to like this series, but honestly I cant even see myself picking up the next book!

Science Fiction: Exiled alien king Jared thinks of nothing but his people's fight for freedom. Kelsey is fiercely attracted to the unearthly Jared, but she cannot believe his stories about alien wars and time travel. When the future crashes into the present, Kelsey must decide if their love is her destiny.
THIS ONE IS RATHER HARD TO EXPLAIN. IT HAS IT ALL, SPACE TRAVERS FIND LOVE ON EARTH. A BEING WITH TWO SELVES, I THAT IS PURE ENERGY. I ENJOYED THIS STORY, EVEN WITH IT BEING SO DIFFERENT FROM WHAT I USUALLY READ.

From the back: Kelsey Wells can't deny that there is something unearthly about her fierce attraction to Jared Bennett. His revelations about alien wars and time travel can't possibly be fact. Yet with every seductive touch, every searing kiss, Kelsey circles closer to the truth.
