You will read this to the end just to find out where this story is going. Several people character studies of how they react to being trapped in an apartment building surrounded by zombies. No food or water, electricity. Thats all Im going to say, just wonder how you or I would react to this same situation.

I grabbed this book on a whim when Borders was closing.Turns out that it's a great zombie book! It doesn't involve alot of military action which is a plus for me.It's a story about a small group of survivors in a building in NY.Anyway,I really liked it and feel it has been lost in the jumble when it comes to zombie fiction.

I tried, I really did, to at least get to the point in the story where the "pariah" shows up, but it was so offensive that I had to give up. I made it to chapter 10.

The descriptions of survivors' deteriorated states just six weeks after the zombie overrun read like crass locker-room talk, with much made of women's desiccated breasts and mangy pubic hair. There was at least one comparison to concentration camp victims ("Ellen's bodywas a sort of hot emaciated-supermodel Buchenwald kind of sexiness").

And then there was just terrible, terrible writing reinforcing the general bad taste. I may have an article or two out of place here, but one line ran approximately like this: "she kicked the bucket, which was quite a feat considering she had no feet." (Yes, the dead person described here literally didn't have feet.)

One of the sometimes unfortunate aspects of electronic books is that they will tell you exactly how much time you spent reading something. In this case, I wish I could get 1.4 hours of my life back.

The book was really good. Not like any other zombie books I've read before. There is a lot mention in the book about sex. Would not recommend this book for kids.
