I recently traveled to Paris and fell in love with city and its people. I was hoping this book would enlighten me to the trials and joys of moving to Paris. What a huge disappointment! Baldwin is an immature, self-centered writer. (I can't even call him an author!) He leaves his poor wife home all day in a tiny apartment where constant construction is driving her mad, while he flits off to his advertising job though he knows nothing about advertising and doesn't even speak French. And such a whiner. Good grief, when you move to another country, it isn't going to be like home. If you want people and things to be like home, don't travel. Very disappointed that I wasted my time reading this book.
