A good finale to the trilogy. Ms. Fox uses this last book to not only give us a good read about the 3rd daughter in the family, but to tie up the story she has been weaving throughout the trilogy. I enjoyed seeing how the family dynamics evolved through the series, and the final outcome.

After being a media sensation (for two books - SUSPECT and MISSING), the late wealthy bigamist Ron Raven is no longer headlines news and his two families are finally moving on past his transgressions. Everything changes when Chef Luke Savarini sees Ron dining in a Chicago restaurant. He calls Ron's "second" wife who informs her daughter, Chef Kate Fairfax, what her former lover claims.
Kate reluctantly agrees to talk with Luke, but believes he is either an idiot or for some reason cruel. However, once her rage cools down to a slow burn, she begins to accept the possibility that her father pulled off an even wilder stunt than anyone imagined. She plans to learn the truth, but someone wants Ron to remain "dead" so if his daughter and her ex need to die so be it.
This is an exciting ending to the Ravens and Fairfax trilogy although the police come across as more incompetent than the Keystone cops. The story line is fast-paced as the lead couple investigates what happened to Ron but their attraction reigniting in a second chance subplot seems unnecessary as the hunt for Raven, if he lives, is more than poetic justice to sustain the PAYBACK.

I had not read any other books by Jasmine Cresswell, much less any other books in this series, but I picked up this book on a whim and I'm glad I did. True, at times the prose was a bit clumsy, and the romance bits were a bit cliched, but the mystery definitely held my interest. My biggest problem with romances in general is that I find them too predictable, but this one was particularly good in that respect. Yes, of course we all know that the hero and heroine will end up in bed together, that is a foregone conclusion with this type of book- but Kate's quest for her father takes some very unexpected turns. I did not figure out the mystery too early on- though I caught on to the major plot twist before the main characters did- and the story was entertaining and stimulating enough to keep me reading.
Overall, I recommend this to romance lovers and to people like me who aren't too big into that genre but like a good mystery.
And like I said, I had not read either of the other two books but I had no trouble following the story.

Third in Creswell's "Ron Raven" series. This is Kate's story. Kate's ex, Luke sees her supposedly dead father in a restaurant in D.C. It soon becomes apparent to them that not only did Ron Raven have two wives and families, but he also faked his own death. They search for him despite threats to Kate's life. This was a satisfying conclusion to a well written trilogy although the end was quite predictable
Cresswell just keeps getting better this is a very good read. unique story and keeps your interest throughout the book.I highly recommend
a good series.
Last of the 3 book series of the Fairfax and Raven family's. If you didn't read the first two books you missed the best part of the story. Missing and Suspect are a must read to get the whole picture of these two family's story. Lots of exciting build up to bigamy, murder, big money, deception everything you want in a good suspense love story. I loved this 3 book series and wish there was 3 more behind this one!!
Great trilogy. Ending was a little mild after great build-up.
