This was the 2nd book in The Revenge of the Sisterhood Series. I can't wait to read all of the books. This one is about Julia and her Senator-husband who gave her aids by fooling around (a lot) on the side. He gets a VP nomination and see what happens next..........

Second in a series. Great excitement as the Sisterhood fights for justice.
There is a group of women who have been unjustly treated by the legal system or by their husbands. The group has been formed by a wealthy woman sponsor and an ex-spy. They work together to remedy the injustices. The book deals with a husband who gives his wife AIDS an an HMO which causes the death of several people by not approving treatment.

A fast easy book to read.
Fern Michaels' books are alway intriguing and keep you guessing from page to page. A very enjoyable read.

Good book. You can read it in an afternoon. These ladies really want revenge and they get it in spades. I hope the other books are as good. If you want an "escape" book, give this one a try.

Seven diverse women band together to gain revenge on a U.S. Senator who has abused, philandered, and betrayed his wife. Nice cast of characters.
By looking at Fern Michael's books, I always thought she was a Romance novelist only. Since I don't care for Romance novels, I've never read her before. But "Payback" is part of a series of suspense books featuring 7 women who help each other get revenge upon the person(s) who ruined their lives. The leaders of this group are Myra and Charles. Myra is very wealthy and is able to fund each of the missions these women go out on. Charles is an ex-CIA operative of sorts (above the CIA if there is such a thing) who uses his experience from the field and his technical knowledge to guide the missions. I highly recommend this book for anyone who likes their suspense wrapped around some revenge fantasies. If you're into justice but see so little of it nowadays, this is the ideal series. None of the villains are killed but they do get their just desserts as they say. Michaels keeps the pace moving and the characters interesting. I did find the ending somewhat unbelievable but in fantasyland it's a pretty good solution to the problem of keeping the bad guys alive while at the same time, making them disappear from the public eye. You'll just have to read the book to find out the groups' solution!

This is the second of three series about revenge. There were so many references to this book when I read Vendetta, I had to read this one. The revenge is somewhat extreme, but I keep reading anyway.

This is really a good read
Maybe it was just me, but I couldn't get into this book - too many characters and too many cutesy conversations! Since it's a bestseller, maybe someone else will enjoy it!
This was the first book I read by Fern Michaels. And even though it is the 2nd in the sisterhood series, I won't be reading another one. I almost didn't finish it from the beginning, but stuck with it. The middle was very good, but I didn't like the ending...too much of a stretch of the imagination, maybe? I had too many questions left at the end, too.
To unbelievable for me
This book deals with Julia Webster, a plastic surgeon, married to US Senator, Mitch Webster, who is on the short list to become VP pick for the Democratic nominee for President. Mitch has infected his wife with AIDS, which he has picked up from one of his many partners. She has tried to hide it from him but now she wants revenge. Myra, Charles and the other six women of the Sisterhood help her plan a kidnapping which includes a family that owns an HMO,who has been taking advantage of their members and using their money for anything but their well being. Not including Nikki's ex-boyfriend, Jack, who enlist the help of an old friend, Agent Mark Lane, FBI. I won't tell you more for fear of giving everything away.
I love the "Sisterhood" books by Fern Michaels! Seven women and one ex-spy who take on the injustices that are left by our judicial system! Mayhem and laughter follow! The characters are fun and the revenge they extract is perfect! This book is about Julia and her cheating, low-life, aids infected husband. The revenge is just! I can't wait to read them all. Definitely recommend this series to others.
I just love this Sisterhood Series and Payback does not let you down. I can't put these books down once I start to read them. This book holds your interest from the first page thru the last. I wish Fern Michaels would never stop the antics of the Sisterhood. After reading these books I always feel that, yes, their is justice after all. Maybe not by the law but justice nevertheless.
