OK if you are a Chandler fan, I prefer Spenser
sequel to Raymond Chander's "The Big Sleep" Wel-written.
Robert Parker takes on the task of writing a sequel to Raymond Chandler's The Big Sleep and succeeds admirably. I enjoyed reading this book and did it at one sitting (actually one lying, since I was in bed at the time). I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys "hard-boiled" sleuth novels.
I was excited to find this book as he wrote this book that wouldn't have been written except for him. It was another favorite of mine.
Parker does a "swell" job with this sequel to Chandler's The Big Sleep. His stark style pays homage to Chandler as he takes Marlowe through the dames and hoods to solve the mystery. Wonderful job, very enjoyable read (and I admit to not being a big fan of the genre).
The cover says this is a sequel to Raymond Chandler's The Big Sleep. I intend to readthis tonight!
