I read all of the Percy Jackson books some time ago. Then lat year I picked up the graphic novel of The Lightning Thief and really enjoyed it. I was excited to see that the 2nd Percy Jackson book had also been converted to graphic novel. The authors have done an excellent job of converting the novel to graphic novel format. The illustration is wonderful and I really enjoyed reading this.

Things are going relatively well for Percy at school (for once). Then Annabeth brings news that the tree that guards Camp Half Blood has been poisoned. Percy and friends must journey across the Sea of Monsters to find the cure.

This is the book where Tyson joins the story and I have always enjoyed his character. Those who have read the full length novel version of this story already know whats going on here.so I am not going to discuss that a ton.

Needless to say this adventure involves many of our favorite Percy Jackson characters including Percy, Annabeth, Grover, and Clarisse.

The illustration throughout this graphic novel is in beautiful full color, illustrated with great detail, and just beautiful. The adaptation of the story is well done and hits all the high points of the story very nicely. It was fun to revisit this series in graphic novel format and I really enjoyed reading this.

Overall an absolutely excellent graphic novel adaptation of The Sea of Monsters. I really enjoyed both the story and the beautiful illustration. Highly recommend to those who love fantasy graphic novels. Of course I would recommend reading the full length novel first (since all of those books are pretty darn good) and then reading this as a way to revisit the story.
