Fun book but I figured out the twist really quickly. It didn't have any suprises for me.

I found Samantha James a few years ago and have been a fan ever since. This book is a historical romance of a rags to riches young lady who of course finds love. What makes it stand above the normal tales like this is the writing by the author.

I couldn't get into this book. The situation had enough interest that I finished the book, skimming a lot. It felt like almost a parody of historical romance, not the real thing. The cliche story, cliche names, cliche dialogue.
Forgettable.

First book in a trilogy ... loved it!
Devon St james must surely be dreaming! she closes her eyes in Londons's poorest slum, and awakens wrapped in fine linens. Staring into the eyes of the most gorgeous man she has ever seen!
fast read with likeable characters. worth the read.
Great novel, part of a great three-book series
Its a well written regency romance from a good author : )
Devon St.James must surely be dreaming! She closes her eyes in London's poorest slum, and awakens wrapped in fine linens...staring into the eyes of the most gorgeous man she has ever seen! Sebastian Sterling, marquess of Thurston, is clearly shocked to have a girl from the streets in his bed, though the heat of the desire burning in his gaze is unmistakable. But if he believes Devon will easily submit, he is quite mistaken!
Very good book. I am looking forward to reading the second in the series.
