As I've found all her books, a great Debbie Macomber read; and a quick one, too!
If you're a Debbie Macomber fan, it's a must-read; and if you've never read a Debbie Macomber book, but you like romances, this one is a good place to start.

Prolific, best-selling and beloved author Debbie Macomber is known for providing her readers with heart-warming tales of love, romance, friendship, home, and hearth. With A Perfect Christmas, she does not disappoint her fans because this story is plain, old-fashioned fun to read. Easily completed in one sitting, it is a frothy, delightful mixture of broad, slapstick comedy adventures, as Cassie sets about performing the three tasks Simon has assigned her, and romance as her growing attraction to Simon surprises and frightens, but also delights her.
From the outset, it is obvious where the storyline is leading, but that doesnt matter. Cassie is an empathetic character, a confident and assured professional who is frustrated by the fact that she meets very few eligible bachelors and the ones she has encountered thus far have not been suitable. She is intrigued when Simon describes his client, John, to her, explaining that he selects one and only one potential mate for each of his clients. Simons exhaustive application process ostensibly provides him with all the information he needs to discern which of his clients will be compatible.
But as Cassie moves through the process of completing Simons prerequisites, she finds that she is thinking about John less and less, while receiving mixed messages from Simon. His gruff, no-nonsense exterior belies the tender moments they share and leave Cassie wondering about her Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde-like matchmakers true intentions. Readers will wonder, too, if the mysterious John even exists or if Simon has simply conjured him up while he tests Cassies motives and heart before deciding if she is the right woman for him.
Supporting characters Angie, Cassies best friend with whom she also works, and Shawn, Cassies artist brother, a confirmed bachelor, lend support. Her cranky, newspaper-stealing, rap music-playing neighbors are an eclectic bunch who make a holiday meal both entertaining and surprising. Macomber is a master at creating endearing heroines and surrounding them with colorful supporting characters who keep the action popping, the storyline moving toward its always-obvious-from-the-outset conclusion. The Perfect Christmas offers no exception to that successful formula.
Simons real feelings and motivations are eventually revealed. His rationale for the three tasks? Well, that makes sense, too, especially when viewed in conjunction with the wishes Cassie expressed when she retained him to find her perfect mate.
Readers familiar with Macombers work will not be surprised to learn that Cassie does, in fact, have The Perfect Christmas for which she has wished. Knowing that in advance does not diminish the fun of reading about how she achieves it because, after all, in Macombers deft hands, a light-hearted romance like The Perfect Christmas is a perfectly delightful story, sure to evoke laughter at least several times and leave even the most Scrooch-like reader with a perfectly satisfied smile on his/her face after reading the last page.

This was my first Debbie Macomber book. I really enjoyed it. If you are looking for a well written, funny, some-what predictable story, that leaves you feeling good, than you should read this book. The main character is hilarious and gets herself into some crazy situations which begin like something out of a Bridget Jone's story but end with her learning something meaningful about herself. The matchmaker reminds me of Frazier meets Monk. He is the polar opposite of Cassie. She's very down to Earth. Their interactions are quite comical. She's bound and determined to discover if he really is "human"and does things to drive him crazy although she accomplishes this just by being who she is. I look forward to reading more by this author.
Really liked it, haven't read any Debbie books in awhile!
I just love books that make me laugh out loud. This book did indeed achieve that. Very quick read. I was done with it in less than a day. If you want a feel good - little pick me up - in the middle of the holiday season but are lacking in time, reach for this story.
Macomber's 2009 Christmas book. Macomber always makes her Christmas books something special and can be read anytime of year.
Great Christmas story! It was sweet, very unique and had some humor tossed in! Just what is needed for a fun holiday read!
Wasn't until I completed this book that I realized I read it 10 years ago. That's okay. I enjoyed it the second time around. Contains one long story and second shorter story. Both worth rereading.
I normally don't give books like this five stars (reserve those for the classics...) but I loved this story. It was funny, romantic and very Christmasy... I read it in one night and I highly recommend it for all those who would love a fun Christmas read... Enjoy and Merry Christmas!
Debbie Macomber's books are like potato chips, you can't read just one, no matter how much you realize you will know what happens in the end - girl gets boy. They are happy and sweet light reading novels that you know you will be able to enjoy.
`The Perfect Christmas' tells the story of 2 romances, one with Cassie Beaumont and one with her best friend Angie Barber; both find their true love in the end. The setting is Christmastime and Cassie and Angie are desperate to find husbands; so desperate that Cassie uses the $30,000 she has saved for her wedding to pay a professional matchmaker. Both Angie and Cassie feel their biological clock ticking and want true love and a husband and babies; the problem as Macomber so astutely points out is that men do not have a deadline for fatherhood so they do not feel that push to get married before a certain age.
Cassie is given 3 three tasks by the matchmaker to prove her worth before she meets her perfect match - all are appropriate Christmas related activities. She has her mishaps, which make her more real to a reader and she does find her true love in a twist and turn in the plot (which I will refrain from spoiling for a future reader). Angie as well finds her true love and all ends happily.
I did find in this day and economic time $30,000 for a wedding and especially to hand over to a matchmaker an enormous sum of money - it really disturbed me to think of that amount, but overlook that and you can have a pleasant Christmas read.

A fun quick read for the holiday season. Of course a feel good story.
Cassie Beaumont is 33 years old and she's single she wants a husband and a family so she goes to a professional matchmaker Simon and he has her go through several tasks before he'll let her meet her perfect man and she's going to be very shocked because it's someone that she's known all along. Only, She doesn't know that she already knows the perfect man.
This was a fun, easy read for the holidays.
This is a great story any time of year!!
This is 5 books in one. The perfect Christmas is about a woman who pays a matchmaker state of the art to find her the perfect husband and this comedy goes awry. Book 2 the DEbbie Mac Comber cookbook. Book 3 Debbie's knitting pattern. Book 4the Book " Can this be Christmas?" Railroad passengers get derailed on Christmas Eve. They are first angry then enjoy the season , a great read. Fifth book is first chapter of 1225 Christmas lane. An older man with a teenage daughter marries a younger woman and starts a family. Interesting family dynamics.
I truely enjoyed this book
I liked this Christmas story the best so far of the annual stories she writes. It was funny and poignant and the story, while predictable, was very well told. Certainly puts me in the Christmas mood! Well Done!
Beautiful copy! What would make your Christmas perfect?
For Cassie Beaumont, it's meeting her perfect match. Cassie, at thirty-three, wants a husband and kids, and so far, nothing's worked. Not blind dates, not the Internet and certainly not leaving love to chance.
What's left? A professional matchmaker. He's Simon Dodson, and he's very choosy about the clients he takes on. Cassie finds Simon a di[fb03] cult, acerbic know-it-all, and she's astonished when he accepts her as a client.
Claiming he has her perfect mate in mind, Simon assigns her three tasks to complete before she meets him. Three tasks that are all about Christmas: being a charity bell ringer, dressing up as Santa's elf at a children's party and preparing a traditional turkey dinner for her neighbors (whom she happens to dislike). Despite a number of comical mishaps, Cassie does it alland she's finally ready to meet her match.
But just like the perfect Christmas gift, he turns out to be a wonderful surprise!
