Starts out slow, but builds to an unseen ending that keeps you sitting on the edge of your seat.
More than a bit overwrought. I'm all for a dramatic reading, but yikes!
I don't know how I managed to not read a John Saul novel before this, but I'm glad this CD recording of "Perfect Nightmare" was my introduction to him. Adding to the already spooky story was the excellent reading by Dick Hill and Susie Breck. By the end of the story I was a little tired of Hill's voice, but he really did manage to capture the evil of the bad guy from the moment the recording started. I was hooked from the very beginning and couldn't wait to pop the last CD in and find out "who done it."
