Might have been a perfect book. But she had to go and say something like this:
Those freckles.......marks of an innocent woman.

Good story, romance and intrigue. Luanne Rice has written another good one. Kept me interested the whole book to find out what happened to the husband.

I enjoyed this immensely as one of my "summer reads".
Peering into the life of a "perfect family" after the father disappears. Another Luanne Rice hit.
Bay McCabe relishes life's simple pleasures, her children, her home by the sea. She has never forgotten the values of her Irish granny-the everyday happiness of family, good friends, and hard work. Bay and her husband, Sean, have weathered rough spells and moved on. Now a perfect summer, filled iwth the scent of beach roses, lies before them.
Charming and ambitious, Sean splits his energy between the town bank, his old fishing boat, and the family he seems to adore-until he leaves his young daughter stranded after school. As troubling memories resurface, a phone call confirms that Sean is missing. So begins a season that will change everything. As the door to all Bay cherishes seems to close forever, another opens, and an old love steps through. Embraced by enduring friendships, Bay will discover the truth of who she is-what love is-and how life's deepest mysteries are often those closest to home.

This is a really good book. I'm not a big fiction reader, but I truly liked this story. A perfect summer read. Has a little bit of everything.
This was the first Luanne Rice book I have ever read...and I will be looking for more. Very good story that went quickly...even though it was a long book, I kept wanting to find out more. :) Good mystery.
Luanne Rice writes a beautiful book! If you've never read one of her books, take a chance on this love story. "For every love there is a season" could be the second title.
Slow at times, and very rarely teary. Maybe I've read too many books, but I found it somewhat predictable.I went through it quickly.
Very good book. Great ending!
Another great family relationship book by Rice. Loved it.

Another one of Luanne Rices best, takes place on a small island and is about life, love, old doors closing and new ones opening.

If you like a good LOVE story Luanne Rice is a wonderful author!!!
I really enjoyed this book! Family tragedy overcome, new love and life found, danger and mystery. Luanne Rice's books are sometimes hit and miss, but this one was worth reading!
a story that is about family values
A husband is late home. The family is anxious, the FBI is cynical and his fellows bank employees are being investigated for embezzlement. The rich Connecticut Long Island Sound beach scenes with all it beauty lends a marvelous backdrop to the novel. The characters are richly drawn. I highly recommend this book
My first book from this author. I liked it. I will be reading more from her.

Typical of Luanne Rice. Slow at first, but it picked up fairly quickly.
I am a huge Luanne Rice fan. Her stories are wonderful and touching!
I truly loved this book! From beginning to end. Her descriptions made me feel as if I were there in the story. Good plot. Great ending. I just loved it.

I love Luanne Rice's novels. This one was typical of hers..just a really great read.
For about half of this book I was wondering what was so "perfect" about the summer. It was a very good book though :O)

This is a very good book, much better than I had anticipated, enjoy!
This is just another one of Luanne Rice's great books with a touching storyline.
Thought provoking book. What would happen when your husband just up and leaves you onw day. You think he had been hurt, but it seems he had been planning to leave for some time. What problens you have trying to make it emotionally, finanically and how will you start all over again.
The acclaimed author of Safe Harbor and other New York Times bestsellers returns to the seaside, delving into the heart of a once happy family facing troubled waters.
Luanne Rice is an excellent author.
Wonderful book, I love this author. I have read almost all her books. 1-5 I give it a 5
Bay McCabe had always kept the advice of her Irish granny close to heart. The closeness of family, friends and the joy of hard work. Bay and her husband Sean had weathered storms, but had finally come to their beach house to work together on their problems.
Sean is charming and ambitious, splitting his time between the town bank, his fishing boat and the family he seems to adore - until he forgets to pick up his daughter from school. As troubling old memories resurface, a phone call confirms that Sean is missing. So begins a season which will change everything.
As a door closes to all Bay cherishes, another opens and an old love steps through. Now, Bay will discover who she is and what love is, embraced by strong friendships that will teach her that the most enduring mysteries are the ones close to home. I give this story a B+! - it was charming in parts.

I really enjoyed this book. Unfortunately, I got into the storyline and could identify. (I say 'unfortunately' b/c in reading the description you might understand why.)
Good beach read.
