Absolutely amazing. Book three in a decent books I've read run! This one had depth and dimension to the characters, who were likeable and intelligent, even though they may commit silly acts. But at least you know WHY they were doing what they were doing when they were doing it. Wish the author had spent a bit more time on the final chapter, well, actually the last page. Seemed kinda 'I'm all done, now' to me.

Almost didn't read this book because of a previous review but I'm glad I did! It's a very good book with lots of twists and turns, almost like a murder mystery!!

After finishing this novel, I immediately sought out the next two books in the Pennyroyal Green series (the 4th is due out this summer). I found the story engaging (although the circumstances of the characters were a little extreme). The author infuses this story with intelligence, extraordinary humor, and writing skills. And it it smokin' hot! Terrific chemistry. Note: very nice for a change to read an author who understands and uses the English language. I am tired of poor grammar and syntax, so Hooray for Julie Anne Long.

OK, I don't know how this book got 4 stars!? This was painful to read due to the fact that the story took forever to make any kind of sense, the continued use of the same word to describe things in a sentence. It was so so so annoying! The editing of this book was awful, the sentencing, the speed at which the story moved, and the way it was all thrown together at the final 4 pages to end the book. I can now understand why some write they wanted to throw a book against a wall. This was one of those books. Hopefully the writing has improved in the next one in this series.

This was a wonderful read. Long's stellar prose is much in evidence and there is an adventure tale which I miss in many romances today.
