I'm very impressed with this book. When my then 10 year old had begun to ask more detailed questions about getting her period, I chose this book on a recommnendation from a friend. I was very pleased to find how straightforward and helpful this book is.

Covered topics include most changes with puberty, choosing sanitary products, a helfpul and thorough overview of the developing female anatomy, visiting the gynecologist for the first time, personal health and body image. Every chapter conveys the necessary information while being brief and casual in tone.

I found the extremely brief introduction to sexuality was perfect and appropriate. The images of male anatomy are very simple cartoonish illustrations and in good context to the sections they appear in. The focus is not rushing into sex and encourages open communication with parents. This small introduction appears near the end of the book.

My daughter really enjoyed referring to it time and time again. She shared it with several of her friends too and they really felt a better understanding or their bodies after talking about it together.

It's the perfect supplement to parental guidance.

My daughter (10 yrs old) read this entire book in one day. She was very excited about the information and discussed it with me, and had no questions after! She said it told her everything she needed to know. What a great way to start conversation and get info across.

I originally got this for my oldest daughter a few years ago but she never read it [doesnt like to read]. Kept it for my youngest daughter but in looking it over when she was old enough, I decided not to let her read it b/c I realized I didn't really agree w/ the content, as it's much less conservative than my values.

This book is a phenomenal source of information for kids who don't want to talk about "it". Or for parents who don't want to discuss it either.
I especially appreciate that it talks about the pressures that go along with becoming a young woman, not just from the adults around the house, but also from boys.
I highly recommend this book to anyone with a daughter embarking on this stage of womanhood.
