Oh, Lord! My God, my Savior, my Father, You are utterly indescribably, yet I am compelled to attempt the impossible. Yet, how could I say something that is not inadequate, or what can I say to show how much You mean to me? I could liken You to a mighty river. I step from the shore into Your grace and feel all my filth wash away. Even though I drown in Your love, this is not adequate, for You are mightier than every drop of water flowing together as one. I could call You an all-consuming fire. Like silver, You burn away my imperfections until I am a perfect mirror of You. This, also, is a poor analogy to You, for no fire could ever match the heat of Your love, nor any blaze match the absolute destruction of Your wrath. You are absolute, the Creator and Master of everything, and yet You come close and hold each and every one of Your people, the way that a father holds his children. It is this name for You, Father, that I understand the least. My earthly father has, thus far, failed miserably in his duties of reflecting You. And yet, he may still prove to be a good example, as one of what a Godly man does not do.
Oh! How can I not praise You, when everything I see cries Your name? I see You in everything, from the unique show twice every day called sunrise and sunset, to the elegant dance of the stars through the vastness of space; from the way a tree on a cliff side breaks the solid rock into fertile soil, to the way a stone, dark as night, can be turned perfectly clear by exposure to the light. I simply cannot understand how some people say that You do not exist, for in doing so they deny the beauty and the deliberateness of creation.
My Master, I give back to You everything You gave to me and even put my very life in your hands as an offering. Do with it what You will, but given a choice, I would want to become Your sword of light, slicing through the darkness and freeing the captives from the lies. I know what that would require, and welcome it. Melt this stubborn heart so that I may be molded into a reflection of You. Breathe Your fire into me so that I may be purified. Break me, and break me again, so that I might be strengthened. Drown me in Your love, and grind away anything about me that You do not want. I yearn for the day when I may finally hear Your voice saying, “Well done, good and faithful servant. Your work is complete, and now I welcome you Home.” Until that blessed day, I must console myself with doing Your work and seeking Your will daily, with the hope that You will bless me with another glimpse of Your glory or a whisper of Your power, all looking forward to the day I live in full sight of Your splendor forever and ever. Amen.

Stephen I read your psalm today and was very moved by your words. I find much of myself in your writing. Wanting God to use me daily for His Glory. How peaceful it is to follow the Lord and how rare it is to hear someone else talk about it. Stay on the path you have chosen, seeking Him and doing His will. He knows our weaknesses and will answer your prayers. How pleased He must be to find someone so willing to become better in His eyes. Gods Blessing upon you. Lorraine

These are powerful words of raw emotion and love and desire for the Creator and HIs work in and around you. It is a psalm that I could shout out loud as an echo of your prayer to One so worthy. I find this to be great writing and great feeling. Keep up the great work!
