For the year of 2009, I resolve not to make any more personal purchases. Meaning, no clothes, shoes, purses, accessories...nothing. No books. Nothing that is only for me.

I also resolve to have more sex....my husband agrees ;)

I'm surprised to see such a strong anti-materialism resolution. How did it work out?

Well I got pregnant in late January or early Febuary, so the sex thing didn't go exactly as I thought. It is hard to want to have more sex when going through morning sickness, anemia, and getting very large around the middle. BUT as my postpartum checkup is in the first week of 2010, I will just carry that resolution over to this year.

As far as the not buying resolution, I did fairly well considering the rules changed a little. I did have to buy maternity clothes but purchased 90% of them from consignment or rummage sales. I didn't buy anything else for myself - my mother in law bought me some things I wanted however. And I am very proud of myself for not over-buying for my new daughter or my 7 y/o daughter this year. This coming year I am not making any promises about not buying any personal items as most of my clothes don't fit correctly anymore, but I will try to buy a majority of the items used and not over-buy.
