This book was more of a biography of the band Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, not the man Tom Petty. It presented itself more as a detailed mention of the revolving door of musicians that were band members, were no longer band members, auditioned to be band members, etc. Very little information was given of Tom Petty outside of the trials and tribulations of his career. After reading the book, it left me wondering what was left out. There was not a balanced portrayal of the positive and negative. Surely these musicians must have enjoyed their accomplishments as a band and their personal relationships with each other. This book seemed to focus on the negative.
