Classic Dean Koontz - if you love him, you'll love this book!

This was a good book, but not as scary as I expected. I thought The Taking (also by Koontz) was much, much creepier. It's very well-written nonetheless.

I've always loved reading Koontz's books. They have a way of keeping me up at night. But sometimes he disappoints with his endings and that can have a way of ruining a nicely written book. Fortunately with this book I enjoyed the ending as much as I did the whole book.
It's about a cozy little mountain town in California. Jenny and her little sister Lisa are headed to Jenny's home in this quaint little town. When they get there it takes no time for the story to go wild. The town seems quiet.. way too quiet and after a while they find that either the people in the town are dead or missing. What could have happened in that time that could wipe out the whole populace? The county sheriff and other officers show up as they try to piece together what's going on. Without giving anything away, I would have to say this was a wonderful roller coaster ride with a satisfying ended. Highly recommended.
