I love cozies and I'm a professional scrapbooker so this book was right up my alley...though for me the best part was the New Orleans descriptions, particularly poignant now...
Pretty much light reading...not too deep but simple entertainment.
A good scrapbooking mystery, set in New Orleans. An enjoyable read
Fun book for those that like mysteries and scrapbooking. Has tips and receipes in the back!

Cute, entertaining.
Quick read.
My second Scrapbooking Mystery by Laura Childs. The New Orleans setting makes most all of it new to this midwesterner. Quite a different culture, though tied together by scrapbooking. Carmela has quite an imagination and often comes through with the answer as she busy's about gathering "clues". Surprise ending.

I really enjoyed this second book in the scrapbooking series. It is a fun read, and it makes you want to read the next one!
Enjoyable book, an easy read.
This series is set in New Orleans, and is a lot of fun to read just to learn about what is unique to that area of the country. The story is fun as well
Mystery. Carmela is hosting a late-night "Crop Til You Drop" session at her quaint French Quarter scrap-booking shop, Memory Mine. All the usual suspects have turned up to trim, decorate, color and gossip. But their all night crop comes to a screeching halt when a neighboring antique shop owner winds up murdered in the alley behind the cozy store.
Has scrapping tips as well as some recipes!

Engaging mystery.
Excelent as always!
This one kept me guessing.
Carmela hosts a all night Crop Till You Drop.
And someone does...
Before the night is done her fellow shop owner next door is killed.
Was it some one at the Crop Party?
Read it and find out.
(*note* In the back of the book I read had a listing for
the next book in the series titled Scrap Trap (Nov.2004)
any ideas what happened to it? Can't find any info on it.)

If you like New Orleans and scrapbooking you just might like this series. While it is light on scrapbooking tips/hints there is plenty of mystery and history of New Orleans. Although I tend to wonder with some of these cozy mysteries how the main character gets themself in these situations!

I enjoyed this one a little more than the first. This one was not quite as predictable, though I'm still not overly impressed with our "sleuth's" crime solving abilities. She's likable enough, ditz and all, and seems to have her wits about her when it comes to scrapbooking - the main (maybe only?) pull for me in reading this series - but in love and life and everything else, she seems to me a bit of a flake....
This was a more enjoyable read than the first; not as wordy (read: repetitive), though still some. There were plot revelations, especially close to the end, that simply made no sense to me. At one point, Carmella throws an angry fit, and it just seemed out of character to me. If I had been there live and in person, I'd have had a hard time not rolling my eyes at the scene.
I think I'm growing a like for Ava, Carmella's best friend. She adds candor to the story, and steps in to save her ditzy friend more than once. I'll probably read at least one more in this series, and maybe more, but only if I can get a hold of it through a deal in the Book Bazaar or if I end up with it in one of the great swaps going on in the forums. I won't be spending a one-for-one credit on any more of these, nor investing time in the Tea series by the same author.
Very "eh" for me, but I marked it a half point higher than the first, and high enough to still receive recommendations from the automatic generator based on it.

This is a great series. Loved the New Orleans setting.

As a scrapbooker and an avid mystery reader, I had high hopes for this book, but it turned out to be pretty mediocre. The writing isn't very good and I guessed who the murderer was about 1/3 of the way through. I still plan to read the others in the series though, so it wasn't a complete write-off.

This is the second book in this scrapbooking mystery series. I thought it was good (I liked it better than the first one). I enjoyed it and can't wait to read more about Carmela. It was a little sad reading a story set in New Orleans, though.

A wonderfully light mystery in which the main character, Carmela, owns a scrapbook store. Very likeable characters.
If you enjoy scrapbooking, you'll love reading all of the little scrapping things that are thrown in to the story!
The book even has some recipes at the end that sound DELICIOUS!

Great sequel to the first book! I felt that the pace of this book was faster than the first. It took me one afternoon to read it, I was hooked from the beginning. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for a cozy mystery with some great scrapbooking tips and recipes.

It was sort of bittersweet reading this book since it takes place in pre-Katrina New Orleans . However, it is a nice cosy with a heroine who owns a scrapbooking shop and has a compulsion to solve murders.

Second in this Scrapbooking "cozy" series by the author of the Tea Shop mysteries. Includes scrapbooking tips too! Set in New Orleans with plenty of local color and a wonderful group of supporting characters.
Murder and romance in pre-Katrina New Orleans-set in a scrapbooking shop. Second in the series.
Wonderful atmosphere - provides a fun mystery and scrapbooking tips.
Another great Childs mystery. A wonderful cozy book to curl up with on a rainy day. I like to read cozy books in between my more intense mysteries as a change of pace and to let my mind rest. I know you will enjoy this book as I did.

Carmela finds herself right in the middle of more drama all while running her scrapbook store "memory mine'. Great cozy.
Wonderful book. It is the second book in the series of scrapbook mystery. If you love laura childs' tea shop mysteries you will love this series.
