Has some romance, some mystery, and some drama. A good story overall about mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, murder, and a small town.

Very readable, but a little too implausible for my liking...

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Could hardly put it down! There is mystery, romance, some sadness, and people discovering that they are stronger than they think they are, thus the happiness/contentedness. I recommend this book.
Very good book. Good story line. A slow beginning though
Miss Wilmas has enough on her plate already, thank you very much. The resident organist and piano teacher in the North Carolina hamlet of Swan's Knob, she's preparing music for Lily Mae Strong's wedding extravaganza, organizing the town's annual piano recital, fending off the pesterings of perennial bachelor Roy Swan. When her prodigal daughter Sarah returns with her young granddaughter in tow, Miss Wilma enjoys the unexpected visit until Sarah's absentee husband Harper shows up on her porch a few shorts hours after a murder shakes up the small community. Warm, witty and eccentric!
Wilma Mabry's quiet life as a widow, piano teacher, and mother to an estranged daughter is turned upside-down when the daughter (and granddaughter) turn up out of the blue, followed a day later by her son-in-law, and immediately thereafter by the news that someone has shot and killed one of their small town's deputy sheriffs. Not quite a cozy, and not quite a novel of Southern manners, though it has components of both.
