I must say at first this book was a little overwhelming but once I got into the rhythm of reading the original story along with the citations it was truly a eye opening awesome read. Pamela Smith Hill did a outstanding job of research and putting together a cohesive story line separating fact from fiction and giving a very adult look into real Little House On The Prairie life. Highly recommend to die hard Laura Ingalls Wilder fans. This is not a quick read plus the book is large and heavy but so worth it.

I really enjoyed this book, as well as the history behind the book. I loved the Little House books when I was growing up, and it was interesting to see how the true story influenced her books. I now have an urge to go back and read all those books I read as a kid. I bought the set for my niece for Christmas, and can't wait until she gets to experience them as well!
Overall, a very worthwhile read for anyone, but those who enjoyed the Little House books as kids will feel a strong connection to this book.
