Excellent book. First time I've read a Lori Wick book. Loved it. I'll be reading more of her for sure.
Back Cover:
As the dim lights of the train station faded, Christine Bennett wondered if she would ever come home again. With the death of her grandfather, her only living relative, she felt deep loneliness as she'd never felt it before.
Again she could hear the words of the lawyer as he read the will: "In the event of her death, everything will go to Vince Jeffers." Something was terribly wrong! Grandpa would never have written that! Jeffers, Grandpa's business partner, had watched her with an evil, self-satisfied look that made her shiver. And now, afraid of what might happen, she was obeying a note she had received saying she was in danger and must leave town immediately.
After escaping to the small community of Baxter, Christine begins to piece together a new life. The love she finds there, along with a new-found faith, sustains her as she faces the threat of danger. Although her life can never be the same, Christine finally finds A Place Called Home.
This one book from a four book series. I absolutely loved the series. I recommend it to anyone that enjoys fiction with a christian touch.
2 entertaining love stories of love in the old west.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Lori Wick is one of my favorite writers. Good characters, very real & believable; engaging plot with a little mystery & intrigue. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series!
Suspensful, and gripping. With no one to turn to and no where to run, how will Christine survive on her own?
