Mary Higgins Clark did it again! This book kept me in surprise the whole time and always had me guessing who did "it?" If you like her other books you must read this one. This lady has a talent for suspenseful writing.

a little far-fetched that a child who accidentally killed her mother would move back into her childhood home when her new hubby bought it for her without her knowledge; especially, when no one knew who she really was (not even hubby) and lots of murders take place around her...

Like most of Mary Higgins Clark's novels, this was a page turner. I was a little disappointed at first, because I thought I had solved the mystery, but was pleased when there were some twists thrown into the story along the way, especially the one at the very end. I did not see that coming until very late in the story. This is one of the reasons that I enjoy reading Mary Higgins Clark's novel so much - she is always able to provide a surprise at the end, but doesn't leave us hanging. I finished this book over a weekend - did not want to put it down.
This one is my #1 Mary Higgins Clark book! Sometimes it takes me a while to read a book, but I dove right in to this one & loved it!

This is one of Mary Higgins Clarks best ever written books. The subject of the story is a very likeable person ( young lady ) who grows up in the book. She has suffered a lot in her young live and then is made to suffer more in her adult life! Very suspense full and very enjoyable read!

The murder of a fifteen year old girl haunts the whole family. When the killer has served his time, her sister does everything she can to keep him in prison. His wealthy family can pay off as many people as they want, but that won't make him innocent. Laying the blame on a simple minded man won't do it either. She cannot let him harm anyone else. Her obsession with proving his guilt to the world bears fruit when she discovers that this wasn't the first time he killed. Things get dangerous for her before she proves he is what she always believed him to be, a cold-blooded murderer. With the proof comes peace and some healing of her family.

Typical of the latest books by Mary Higgins Clark, this book is too formulaic and predictable. The ending is a letdown because it is obvious in the last 3rd of the book what is going to transpire. The ending is trite and MHC has wrapped everything up in a nice little package.

I loved this book! It was a murder mystery without any sex or foul language. It was wonderful. The book is about a young girl who accidently shoots and kills her mother. The girl is sent to live with distant relatives, changes her name, and tries to hide from her past. Then, many years later, her husband unknowingly buys her childhood home. She has hidden her past from him, but now must face it. Strange things begin happening when she returns home.
Clark serves up her usual tasty tale of a woman threatened by a tragedy in her past, complete with multiple suspects and tangled web of mayhem.
This is a great suspenseful book. I stayed up until 3:00am to finish it because I couldn't put it down. Like always, the end was thrilling and quite a surprise.

The story line was pretty good, but I figured it would be since I love this author's work. But the ending was a bit reaching in my opinion.

Clark creates several characters in this book and her writing was excellent in this book. I did figure out the "whodunit" part to a certain extent but not completely, so I was still surprised at the end.
