I've been trying to learn all I can about becoming the best director possible for a school production. Been in theatre for decades, but not in that capacity: In charge of everything! Of the several books I've read on the topic, David Grote's book has been one of the most helpful. It's obvious he's had lots of personal experience directing amateur productions. I especially appreciate his insights about how a director's choices might personally impact the student.

Highly recommended.
