Totally loved this one. I am putting this one on my all time favorite list. A sad and funny book, well written with great characters.
Raleigh is an insurance salesman with no fun in his life. He has a wife who is involved in the community and whom he hasn't been spending much time with and a pair of twin 17 year old daughters whom he just doesn't "get". He and his brother, Gates, are estranged and he hasn't heard from him in 5 years. His father disappears from the hospital where he has been admitted for tests, along with a young girl. Raleigh begins getting messages from his father who sets a series of seemingly impossible, and totally off the wall, tasks for him to do. What ensues is a total comedy of errors. Wonderful cast of characters! The entire time I was reading this one I was picturing it in my head as a movie. I really, really loved this book.

This is the third Keillor book I've read and it is even more fun than the previous two. Weird characters and situations, with descriptions only Keillor can write.
Classic Keillor -- another funny visit to Lake Wobegon, hiding a plethora of deep truths about ourselves and our lives.
Quick read. Pontoon title is misleading. Entertaining, but not much substance.
This book was read for my book club and as thoroughly enjoyed by all. It's the story of a woman who led a life noone knew about until she passed and then it all comes to the surface with gusto. A very fun read.
Garrison Keillor keeps you laughing. My husband and I will read them on road trips which makes long drives extremely enjoyable and memorable. Fantastic fun.
I can't say that I didn't like this book, would definitely not say it's among my favorites. Quirky characters which I enjoyed. Evelyn has a secret side to her life which is revealed after her death and that awakens stirrings of regret, admiration, and loss. Amusing in many ways.
