England/France WWI. Three brothers enlist leaving behind a wife of the eldest brother. Story revolves around the effects of the war, death of the youngest brother, the love the middle brother secretly holds for his sister-in-law, and the disappearance of the eldest brother presumably KIA. Not all losses were of lives but the lives the war took of the living/survivors.
