This was another excellent book from Dorothea Benton Frank. As with this author's other books that I've read, it's set on the coast of South Carolina. The chapters are told in the alternating voices of Annie Britt and her daughter Jackie. Jackie's firefighter husband has just died while fighting a fire in New York City, and Jackie and ten-year old son Charlie are visiting Annie (Charlie calls her "Glam") for the summer. This book was just bursting with love, although it tackles some tough issues.

Love this author!!
