This series was mentioned in some online review as a good read so I added it to my paperbackswap wish list. Easy read. Story of a retired detective (Albert) in the UK and his German shepherd sidekick. Albert has decided to take a gastronomic tour of the UK. He starts out in a small village (Wales, I believe) where he has signed up to learn how to make a pork pie. The class doesn't even get started because a human thumb is found in the meat used for the pies. Albert gets involved in trying to solve the crime (although the local police aren't thrilled about it). A quick, light read. I'll continue with the series.
