I loved the 1st book in this series, The Turning. The Blood Tie concept was unique (at least in my experience) and made the book exciting and different, I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting. I could not wait to get my hands on the second book, Possession. But Possession was a huge dissapointment. Carrie is frustrating and idiotic at times...and the same can be said of Nathan. I couldn't stand either of them by the end. Neither character seem to evolve or learn anything. Thank god for Max, Bella and Cyrus or I'm not sure if I could have finished it...and I've never not finished a book! Where The Turning kept my interest & I never put it down, Possession was difficult, frustrating and took me a week to read. I've ordered the next book Ashes to Ashes from my local library...until this author redeems herself, I'm saving my money! But since the 1st book was so good, I'll give her one more chance. I hope this author turns the series around...I had such hope for it! 2 1/2 stars

The first in the series was a decent effort but didn't prepare me for this book at all. Book 2 is jam packed with plot, not a quick read which is really refreshing. The break out star of the novel is definitely Cyrus, Armintrout provided great & slightly twisted insight into his psyche. After page 300 or so the book takes a drastic turn for the worst between Carrie & Nathan, I just cant believe the author enjoyed writing such boring and idiotic dialog between the two that didn't advance the plot at all. On the whole its just another vampire novel, the only thing that made me think "wow, now thats original" was how she described the werewolves lineage. I'm hoping Armintrout's next book is a spin off dealing with werewolves and her unique concept of them. I will definitely be reading the 3rd in this series as the author seems to be progressing in her writing skill with each book.

OK... with the first in the series, The Turning... I hands down LOVED every inch of that book, other than the end..I was and still a little confused by it, not that it's really hard to explain, just if it was me in their shoes it would have been different.
So I went into this book ready for more, more of what I dont know, but I guess more of what was in the first book.
I will say that I got more...more of a lot of different things that I didnt expect! Of course just by reading the back of the book you find out Nathan gets possessed. He leaves and is nowhere to be found. After Carrie and Max get together and go to the Movement to see what can be done. They start this crazy adventure of finding Nathan, and a couple others (whom you will find out once you read the book) to figure out what the soul eater is working on.
So there is another romance that falls into this novel (well maybe two) that for me, was unexpected...but I enjoyed. Not as much sex in this one as the first, and when it does come into play there isnt as much detail as the turning.
I did LOVE this book as well but i did give it half a star less than The Turning. I am excited about reading the next, because this story has got to go somewhere and I need to find out!!
I honestly do feel Carries pain though, I feel bad for her and hopes she finds what she is looking for...and you will understand what I mean once you read it.
Jennifer Armintrout kept me wondering "what is really going on?" through the whole book. With one twist there came a turn and so one and so forth yet she kept me intrigued. I have Ashes to Ashes sitting next to me and im about to open up Jennifer's mind again...to see what lays ahead.

I liked this book better than the first in the series. It was more store and less blood and guts.

I found aspects of this book very intriguing. Carrie makes some very difficult decisions based on her intuition and her dreams. She seems to have powers as a vampire that we have yet to see in this book. The relationship of Cyrus and Mouse left me feeling bereft. I am curious to see how Cyrus reacts to his newfound humanity. Actually, all of the romantic relationships were bittersweet, but now I want to see how Armintrout resolves them. This book felt like a segue between some important ideas, but worth the read if paranormal fiction is a genre you enjoy.
