Looks can be deceiving. In a Preacher's Passion, there are lots of characters that appear to be walking the "Christian" line and living the good life. But no one ever really knows what goes on behind closed doors. Passion Perkins, the central character, attempts to end her five year long bout of celibacy with the perfect catch-Lavon Chapmon. However, there's a desperate housewife (or minister's wife, shall we say) that has plans of her own for this handsome gentlemen. Readers also get to peek into the lives of other characters from previous books in the Hallelujah series. Ms Lovely doesn't present your typical Christian fiction novel but rather delves into the behind closed door lives of church folks that is often only whispered about. A Preacher's Passion shines the light on mental illness, adultery, homosexuality, and drugs.

4 stars as the drama with the church folk. Like they say everybody in the church aint saved and everyone that says they love the Lord aint living Christian like. Some of the shameful goings on were too over the top and hard for this reader to shallow.
