Book Zero of the foundation series, added years later to answer questions and explain the beginning of the foundation series.

This was as good as the original or almost as good in my opinion.
Go back in time to before the foundation series. Find out about how Hari Seldon manuveurs events to start his plan & who is still around to guide him.
Like most S/F junkies, I have read most of Asimov's stuff. I often find myself re-reading old stuff thanks to the Covershuffle scam, but his work goes down easily a second time, so I stifle my screams of outrage. If you liked the Foundation series, Prelude is a "must read".
A non-stop book, Absolutely the best of the foundation novels for me!
INCREDIBLE ending!
Emperor Cleon I sits uneasily on the Imperial throne of Trantor.
Hari Seldon has come to Trantor to deliver his paper on psycho history. Little does he know that he has already sealed his fate and the fate of humanity, Hari possesses the prophetic power that makes him the most wanted man in the Empire.

"Prelude to Foundation" is sixth written in the series of seven but first in sequence. You have to read all seven to get the full picture. Required reading for all SF aficionados.
