i liked historical details, but i did not like some of Maddow's framing.

So Germany subsidized propaganda in USA, with help of sympathetic USA politicians. Is that intrinsically evil? I don't think Maddow separated the racist, antisemetic content from other aspects of the movement which sought to keep the USA out of WW2.

Of course, many of the figures who facilitated the distribution of propaganda and many leaders of pro-fascist groups were awful and planned heinous crimes.

I was also struck by the lack of convictions of any of these people. Compare that with the lengthy prison sentences handed out during the Global War on Terror to people.
