An entertaining mystery with fun stuff about film editing. Told in first person POV, the first thing you notice is that Marissa is not just shy, she's clearly on the spectrum. Her quirks make her an excellent film editor, but managing to live in the real world takes her a lot more effort. I don't know if I totally believe in Marissa - she comes up with a lot of really good one-liners in difficult circumstances - but I enjoyed her voice very much. The beginning where she explains her thoughts about the film photo is just great. Liked how the supporting characters were done too. I did think there was entirely too much angst about her friend Amy, so much so that I started expecting a different relationship than was actually there. But given the character, it made sense. The mystery starts out pretty intriguing but I didn't care for the solution, it got too convoluted for the actual explanation. The podcast transcript was amusing, and there are lots of film references and how-it's-done bits nicely interspersed into the book.
