Therese is a young woman working in a department store. She meets an older woman named Carol and developes somewhat of a crush on her. They become friends and eventually start a relationship together, facing many obstacles along the way. I really enjoyed this book, though it did move kind of slowly.

This was a fascinating book about homosexuality when homosexuality really wasn't something that was talked about.
