Prince's parents were musicians; Mattie Della was a noted jazz singer, and John Lewis Nelson wrote songs and performed on the guitar. Prince died near where he was born, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Fortunately, this eBook explains where his stage name, 'Prince,' originated. His father passed it on to his son (he was known professionally as 'Prince Rogers."

Prince's musical journey began early. He started playing the piano and later mastered the guitar, a gift from his father. His exceptional musical ear was evident even in his early years. While still in middle school, Prince's talent led him to form a band. His versatility was unmatched, as he played multiple instruments. His first album showcased this, where he played all the instruments.

I wondered why this book was so paltry with facts; Prince distrusted the press and did not share personal information. I was surprised Prince was not listed in Rolling Stone's Top 100 Guitarists of All Time. I read last night that people who know about such things have rated Prince in the Top 5. I have watched many Prince videos, and he is a virtuoso performer. I cannot imagine why he wasn't included in the Top 100.
