I'm a big fan of Ms MacLean so was looking forward to reading this one. However, it was so bad, that I almost DNF. At page 100, I remember looking at the author's name because I thought I had requested a book by some new author. Nope, no mistake.
I read a few reviews on Amazon and some readers indicated it would get better toward the end. I didn't think that happened. I wish I had stopped reading at page 100.
Honestly, if this were my first book by MacLean, it would be my last. Thankfully, she's going to get the benefit of the doubt--I'll assume this was a one-off. However, if the next is as bad as this one, she's going to lose me for sure.
