I truly enjoyed the movies, and thought to try the books. I read the first few, and I don't like the diary style they are in. They are decent books for 12 to 18 year-old girls, and may even help kids realize that journals/diary's and writing can be helpful.

Cute, but probably best for a young teenager. Meg Cabot is a gifted author.
It's a cute book. Nothing at all like the movie. The only thing I really didn't like about it was the ending was kind of abrupt. But otherwise it was a pleasant, light read.

The Princess Diaries has been one of my favorite movies for a very long time, and I had not realized that it was based off of a movie. I liked this book since there was so much more information and although it wasn't exactly like the movie, it was actually better. I can't wait to read more in this series.
