He will release her brother if she can track down an item that is precious to him. Ahmare teams up with Duran, a man who has been kept prisoner by Chalen for over twenty years. Duran knows exactly what item that Chalen is looking for. He has a mission of his own that he is ready to undertake.
This is a novella set in the world of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. The story takes off right away. Duran leads Ahmare on an adventure that could be the end of both of them. I found the story entertaining, but I do not see why it was included in the BDB series. My rating: 3.5 Stars.
