Great story of how love looks at the inner beauty not just the outter beauty!! A Must read!
This is the 3rd book out of a current series of 7 set in Rosewood, TX. It is a contemporary Christian romance book that is an easy and quick read. The series generally focuses on one woman and one man with some side characters. Each book will generally include bit parts for some of the past characters that were title characters in preceding books, but a book could be read alone.
Promise of Grace is a easy read that you won't want to put down. Grace is strucken by a serious accident and is being taken care of by her Aunt since her parents died. Grace's Aunt wants her to be seen by a local doctor, Noah, who has more in common with Grace and her injuries that Graces realized. Noah's afraid to getting to close to his patient yet can't stop thinking about her and how scared she is. Grace is needing to mend a broken heart...a broken heart by her fiance' when doesn't feel comfortable looking at Grace after her injury. Why is it so that Noah does look at her and the pain in her eye?
Grace is recovering from a serious auto accident and is convalescing with her aunt Ruth in a small town, Rosewood, in Texas. Her fiance, Patrick, is less than enthusiastic about her now that she's been maimed and she's lost her faith. However, her surgeon, Noah Brady, is determined to heal her wounds and her heart.
My major problem with this book is that Dr. Brady violates several ethical principles in getting involved with Grace. It's in the name of plot development here, but in real life doctors don't date their patients.
Also, in real life, some small towns treat outsiders as though they're slime. Rosewood is the opposite, of course: it stands in stark contrast to Grace's life in Houston. Seriously, people, big cites aren't all that bad. There's something to be said for being able to get sushi at 11 pm when you have a craving.
Grace barely gives Patrick a chance to explain his actions in this book. I cannot fathom why she'd date--let alone get engaged to--a man with whom she had no chemistry.
