This story moved apace from the beginning; in contrast to the very slow beginning of ONLY ENCHANTING. Chloe Muirhead is a much more interesting heroine than some of those in the previous novels in this series.
Ralph Stockwood went to war with three other friends and only he survived. He is racked by guilt because he talked the others into going off to war. He is truly dead inside. This is a very charming story about two people who learn to face their fears.
