Promises is about what happens when the perfect family is torn apart by betrayal and lies. I thought it was well written and felt it was easy to imagine the scenes the author wrote. It made me either really like or really dislike the characters. A good book all around.
A good read for Belva Plain fans.
Promises-between lovers, husbands and wives, friends and family members- are at the heart of Belva Plain's stunning story of passion and betrayal, of dreams shattered and reborn by the awesome power of hope and love. A good story.
It was a very good book
Plain just keeps getting better
Belva Plain is a mastermind!
The other woman and other secrets tear a family apart.
Are promises made always kept is the question and how one deals with those that are broken is at the root of this interesting novel.
2 cassette audio book. a happy marriae is upset by unrealistic expectations of a "first love" that reappears and tempts a contented husband.
I have not read this book. I have 2 on my shelf and need to pass one on.
This is a very good book..I would recommend this highly to any of her fans.
"An emotionally compelling novel."
