This story is simply amazing. The main characters are very realistic and easy to identify with, but the supporting characters are just as interesting and life-like.

The author uses very true to life situations in the course of the story and there isn't a false note to be found.

The love story between Matt and Jared is incredible. Their chemistry is explosive from the very beginning and my heart broke when I thought maybe it wasn't going to work out between them.

The sex scenes sizzle, but are tastefully done without being pornographic.

A true five stars and an A plus for this first time author. I am sure she will have many more wonderful books in the future.

Recommended for anyone who loves romance and the m/m genre!!

This is my first book by this author and it will NOT be my last!! I loved, loved, loved it. The story is written in first person and really hits home. The chemistry between the main characters is electric and their love story is so sweet!! This book had me laughing with the snarky one-liners and crying with that sense of loss deep in your stomach.

I cannot wait to read more works by Ms. Sexton. She could easily become one of my all-time favorites.

What an amazing m/m love story! I've read it three times since I got the book. I wish it were longer. I hated it when the story ended.

Matt is the new cop and Jared is a teacher who is currently moonlighting at his brother's store in a small Colorado town. It's told from Jared's point of view, but it worked so well. Not everyone can write a romance novel from the first person point of view, but Marie Sexton does it well. The romance rings very true. The previous poster who said there's not a false tone is completely right. It's a very convincing, expressive love story. It could have easily become repetitive or boring, but the author writes in such a way the story doesn't get bogged down. The chemistry between the two main characters is very sweet and hot. The romance is awesome without being too graphic although it's pretty explicit in some sections, but I thought the romance was written really well.

They also have funny interactions that had me laughing out loud. Their conversations about which football team is better will make you laugh. Matt and Jared don't fit the stereotype for a m/m couple. They like beer. They love football games and mountain bike riding. They both look very athletic and masculine.
I give this book five stars. It's now one of my favorite stories. I'll definitely look for other books by Marie Sexton. Apparently there is a sequel to this book so I'm off to get my hands on that novel.

One of my pet peeves is a book cover which in no way resembles the book. The two men on this cover resemble the two main characters in this story. Those little details make a difference.

Very good book from Ms. Sexton. The angst of Matt and Jared's relationship is almost overwhelming. The story presents likeable characters with good dialogue and believable situations. Looking forward to reading more about the folks of Coda. 3.5 stars

I LOVE THIS BOOK! I just finished reading it, and I already want to start on her next one! The relationship between Jared and Matt starts so innocently at first, and then evolves into one of trust, sacrifice, love, and commitment.

If you're looking for a book focused on nothing but sex...this isn't it. But trust me, you WON'T be disappointed. :)

Jared Thomas was born and raised in the small mountain town of Coda, Colorado. His family owns a hardware/auto parts store and, apart from his time away at college, Jared has always called Coda home. He's out to those that matter and he likes being near his family. If only there were another man in his life, things would be close to perfect.

Matt Richards has just moved to Coda to join the local police department. He's a military brat and has lived all over but has never had place that he really called home. He's also never had many really close friends and the few he has had, have married and moved on with their lives. He's never had much success dating and generally prefers to concentrate on other aspects of his life.

When the two men meet, they quickly become the best of friends. Both love football, though they disagree about who to root for. Both seem to be comfortable around each other in ways that they've both been missing. The only problem is... Jared is gay and Matt is straight. Can two men be friends when one is attracted to the other in that way?

This is a well crafted story with two characters that it's easy to care about and to like. Both points of view seem realistic and the denouement seemed as believable to me as any I've read of in this vein. Jared's family are great and I loved the scenes that they were in. Matt's family was a bit over the top but not entirely unbelievable and mercifully they weren't in the story that much.

In some ways this was a M/M romance fantasy but it wasn't outside the range of possibility. And it was thoroughly enjoyable. Give it a try.
