2nd in Promises series. historical western erotic romance. This is Cougar's story. Out of the first 3 in this series I prefer Promises Linger but this is still a good story..spicy sex scenes and a tender to his woman alpha male who's awesome with a knife. Deals with a woman afraid but who keeps speaking out/fighting. overall a good read.

I couldnt wait to read this book because I had read Promises Prevail first. It was a really good story and I cant wait to read the next Promises books I get my hands on. My only complaint, is my usual with this author, she talks to much! Does it really take 5 pages to pull out splinter?? Geesh! She could have told this really good story with about 75 pages of words for the sake of words less.

Ronda's review from 2008 is absoluteley correct. If you want down & dirty sex, read the second half of this book. If you want a decent storyline, keep looking.
Typical erotica--weak plot with details that don't add up, people who do things and act in ways that don't make sense, and very little in the way of setting (this is supposed to be in the late 1890's but you'd have a hard time guessing from what little is provided). Some of the secondary characters are more interesting than the leads. The sex doesn't really start until more than half way through. This author is very popular and has written several books after this one, so I'll give her another try and hope she has improved.
Erotic historical romance from Ellora's Cave. I don't generally go for Cowboys or Historicals. But this one was pretty good.
Absolutely have enjoyed all of Sarah McCarty's writings. This one not quite as good as others, but still a very good read and would recommend to others.
