I am running behind on my reviews, and had to reread the blurb online to remind myself what this book was about. That statement summarizes my opinion of the book it held my interest at the time, but was quickly forgotten when Id reached the end. It was neither so good nor so bad as to leave a lasting impression in my memory. (At least it left enough of an impression that the brief reminder was enough to bring the highlights back to mind!)

Kept my interest!
An insight into criminals and the attorneys that defends them.
Interesting & suspenseful read from the perspective of crime scene analysts. Absolutely terrifying to think that this could actually happen. Definitely kept me on the edge of my seat!
Great book! Very interesting and fast-paced. Good story line.
Frightening...Fast moving thriller. Phillip Margolin is one of my favorite writers but he has out-done himself with this book. It keeps you on the edge of your chair from beginning to end. If you like a good mystery then give this book a try. I guarantee you'll love it.
A fascinating, can't put it down read. Defense attorney Doug Weaver's life has gone down hill since a client was convicted of murder and executed. The man insisted he was innocent but forensic evidence was too conclusive to save him. Soon Doug takes on a case of a mentally ill man who is accused of a horrific murder. Again the evidence is overwhelming. At the same time lawyer Amanda Jaffe and her father are hired to defend a gangster accused of killing an informant. The evidence is conclusive but the gangster and his mob boss insist he had nothing to do with the crime. Amanda and Doug join forces seeking answers which may be hidden in the secret corners of criminal investigation. Are their clients innocent and if so who is really responsible? How can the evidence be so strong? The answer and the actions of a god-playing madman will keep you reading well into the late hours of night. Margolin is a master and outdoes himself here.
LOVED this book! I just love Phillip Margolin, he never disappoints! There's a lot of CSI-type happenings, I totally recommend it!
A thriller showing how CSI gathered evidence can be used by a killer with his own secret agenda.
